Site Update 06.10.05

Posted by UTF Admin on Jun 10 2005 | Timmy Cappello, Timmy's Music

The Silver Lake Reunion gig is back! Die hard fans, be sure to mark your calendars. On July 27, 2005, Timmy will be performing with The People of Time. The guys in the band are coming in from all over the United States to play this year’s reunion gig in Silver Lake, New York. If you were at last year’s reunion gig, then you’re probably aware of how big of a success it was. So if you’re in the area or are planning a vacation in the New York area, make plans to come out and support the band!

In other news, Timmy has been working on a project for Southside Johnny. The album is a big band version of Tom Waits songs, and Timmy is performing sax duties on the album. Musically, Timmy says this is the best project he’s ever been involved in on the sax and says that the tunes are are amazing! There will be more to come on this in the future, so stay tuned.

Timmy’s solo acoustic project is coming along nicely. He’s been scouting local areas to perform and plans to start playing gigs May 2006. Timmycappello.com will also launch around this time where his songs will be available via FREE download.

Thanks to the free publicity in the Dallas Observer, UTF has been enjoying a welcome increase in traffic the past few weeks. We are hopefully bringing in other fans of Timmy’s out there who didn’t know about the site, and with the entirely coincidental relaunch of UTF version 4, the feedback has been tremendous. Let’s keep things moving forward by helping spread the word about UTF .

Site Update 06.03.05

Posted by UTF Admin on Jun 03 2005 | Ken Dolls, Site Updates, UTF News

Ultimate Timmy Fanz has been re-launched with an all new design! I really hope everyone likes it because I virtually lived at my computer for days to get it done. I have streamlined the site and hopefully made it more user friendly in the process. Some sections have been eliminated altogether due to dead links, namely the Reviews area.

The Ken Dolls mini site is currently offline. I am in the process of redesigning it. Once complete, I will notify everyone. I also got around to fixing the guest book by updating the links. My guest book host switched URLS for the service, and it’s now working properly. I know that it seems that UTF has been overlooked the past year, but hopefully I made up for that with this update and everyone is enjoying the new web site design.

Ultimate Timmy Fanz is featured in the Dallas Observer Online! Yep, you read that correctly. I was contacted by the reporter a few weeks back who wrote the piece, Zac Crain, about Timmy, the decline in sax players, and was even quoted in the article. Unfortunately, Mr. Crain thought I was a male; I guess I should have made that clear, but it’s an easy mistake considering the spelling of my real name. So if you see J.D. Summar mentioned in the article, that would be me (aka ~DQ~)…just a version of my name that I use in my email address. On a personal note, I don’t think the article does Timmy the proper justice. I realize there are a lot of people who can’t see past “the look” he had in the 80’s to the talent he possesses, and I feel Timmy is far more than just a competent sax player. However, I suppose any publicity is better than none, right? There are others out there who still believe, and thanks to the publicity in the article, we will be able to reach more people.
